As summer’s end approaches, thousands of students from Boston area colleges and universities will be heading back to class. The past two semesters we saw a handful of stickers and posters promoting far-right and fascist propaganda on several campuses in Boston and on the North Shore. One group in particular, Identity Evropa – a white supremacist identitarian organization run by Nathan Damigo, has previously shown slightly more effort in their attempts to spread fascist propaganda in the area.
Seen on UMass Boston’s campus in February
During last month’s right-wingnut “Anti-Sharia Law” protest on the Common, someone who seemed to slip under our radar that day was repping IE and slapped up a few of their trashy stickers, after all – not all fascists are as easily identifiable as the Proud Boys. However, we can confidently assume whoever it was had a Richard Spencer-esque turd shaped hairdo. (More like a hair-don’t)

On July 9th more stickers were put up in the city of Boston, as well as on July 19th in the area of “some local trails”.
They even gave our very own sticker campaign a creepy fascist shout out!
Bet there are more of us putting them up 100x faster than you can “fix” them!
But seriously, if you see any of these Identity Evropa stickers or posters around, please take the liberty of ripping them off or completely defacing them in some way – trust us, it feels really good. And while you’re at it, put up some antifascist stickers in their place – it also feels really good. Stickers, posters, and other street propaganda might not seem like that big of a deal in the grand scheme of the current socio-political-cultural whirlwind we find ourselves in – but it truly is a legitimate tactic in the fight against the far-right. So much so that they are increasingly using this tactic despite their unfamiliarity with street culture, we’ve been vandals and graffiti writers for a long time.
It’s Going Down has some pretty rad resources for countering fascist propaganda, and some designs for posters and stickers specifically against Identity Evropa, which can be found HERE. Get out there and keep Boston a visibly antifascist zone. The streets are ours!
